Combination

Okay, so a lot has been going on with me...I wish I could post everyday and I certainly have that desire but truth be told...I forget, lol...so here are a couple of things that have run through my head that I need to put out there....

I'm serious about understanding the difference between a chickenhead and a hoodrat.
To me the definition has changed over the years but I don't know how. I first experienced chickenheads in high school but we used to call them GMG's(Getting Money Girls). My first experience with the hoodrats came years later experiencing the ladies that were more loud and obnoxious vs the chickenheads that at least seemed to be a little bit more classy...school me...

Although I would love to see the Patriots win the Superbowl, my allegiance has to go with the Giants...I AM the Guy from NY...

Since Cloverfield has been out for a few weeks now, I think I can talk about it. I try not to ruin movies for people because I hate it when people do that to me. I really hate it if I don't ask! What did I think? I think its a fresh way to present movies cause a good movie gives you an experience and something to have you talking about in the end...at least to me. The plot started off decent but then I lost it...all this over a girl??? Wow thats love is all I have to say. I guess there are some definite challenges when it comes to pulling it all together but the plot definitely brought it down a notch to me... I hear they are thinking about a sequel...I wonder how thats going to go....how can they top this movie??

I was inspired though to get some footage and get a sweet intro(sorta sweet) inspired off of Cloverfield...

I deejayed a winter party for a corporation which had a diverse population...old and young black,white, latino and I had to please everyone. To a degree I had my work cut out because it was hard to guage what they all wanted. Can you imagine I got the best response off some K Ci and the sunshine band? That whole early 70's Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, George Clinton etc is what got them moving...not to mention line dances...wow. I had to laugh at myself. Fortunately in the end I was able to get loose to what I was comfortable about. That set me up for my usual opening duties at The Cove and I was glad to play music unrestrained. It definitely was a good look but something of a confidence boost as well.

Aight so I combined a couple of blogs into one. I promise the show is coming...Its almost February!

Countdown!

The first week of February I'm gonna start getting busy...

Some of you have been entertained over the last year with fullblastradio and usualsuspectsradio in one capacity or another. I'm taking chronicles over the airwaves now. Its still gonna be a mixshow where Im spinning but I'm also doing some talking and watnot. The plan is to be weekly and I'm really just getting my shows together so it will flow smoothly for the people of the world to hear.

I was recently blessed to listen to a mixtape, TEAM INVASION MIDWEST presents I AM LEGEND. Its basically a remix album of Jay Z's American Gangster and real hot. I was pleased to see that the production of the mixtape was hot and not a lot of deejays screaming over the tracks. A definite win for anyone into good music. I was even surprised to see that DJ O Sharp of the crew had a track on there!

2 different radio stations, all suspects!

Fullblast radio has been our forefront radio show where on a weekly basis we discuss the happenings around the world. We have been at it for close to a year now and have developed a pretty decent fan base. The cast members have changed up a bit and we get special guests from time to time but in general the major players are Rich NYCe(thats me), O Sharp and Trav Dav. It's nothing to crack on any artist in the industry, any event going on in the world and even ourselves from time to time cause we're always putting folk on full blast...get it? So listen, laugh and subscribe...once you do that...tell a friend to subscribe!
Then there's usual suspects radio. This is more or less our mixtape station. So between the 5 deejays that make up The Usual Suspects Crew, theres no telling what we might make and post. However we have definitely gone from old school hip hop to underground hip hop to reggae to house music to mini mixes and the like. Its gonna change and develop more in 08 so you all will have your chance to get any and everything from the supects.

GO GIANTS!!

You know I'm a New Yorker full blown and never been a fair weather fan. When New England played them a few weeks ago, I PROUDLY wore my Giants throwback jacket(thanks Harry) and hat to go with it! I rocked at The Cove that night to and had to deal with the ridicule of them choking after I was done. That's cool. Guess what? They beat Dallas 21-17!!! Deal with it and I'll see you next week!!!

Changes Ive been going thru

So here's the deal...If you dont know who I am, Im Rich NYCe, the Guy from NY, reppin' Queens and an original member of The Usual Suspects Crew one of the hottest deejay groups around! As this new year begins, you will begin to see some different things coming from the suspects. I can't say that this road to where we are has been easy but without struggle, theres no progress. Now Im going to try and make this blog a little more interactive. I had one before and you should check it out, I was on some sh^t then but I think it was fun and interesting. So this blog will grow and change the same way I do...see ya soon!
