Thoughts...

Since when did politics and sports become intertwined? I'm buggin how its gone from a report to a potential jail sentencing for Roger Clemons. And its all over LYING. Wow is all I can say. However this is the state that we're in right now. I'm sure we will ALL be hearing about this over the next months and I'm sorry that its happening....

2 hot new mixtapes!

I'm not sure exactly when they came out but I was blessed by my man J Rawls and Storm 9000 with two mixtapes.

First off from J Rawls, he hit me with Pete Rocks mixtape/album called NY Finest.

01. Pete Intro
02. We Roll (feat Jim Jones & Max B)
03. `Till I Retire
04. 914 feat (Styles P & Sheek Louch)
05. Questions (feat Royal Flush)
06. Best Believe (feat Redman)
07. Ready Fe War (feat Chip-Fu & Rene)
08. Don't Be Mad
09. Bring Y'all Back (feat Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Phonte & Joe Scudda)
10. The Best Secret (feat Lords Of The Underground)
11. That's What (feat Rell)
12. The PJ's (feat Raekwon & Masta Killa)
13. Made Man
14. Let's Go (feat DJ Doo Wop)
15. Comprehend (feat Papoose)

This is a HOT album. I'm feeling all the tracks and I can definitely play this album from beginning to end nonstop. To me nowadays thats what makes for a good album. Now I will say that you have to be into Pete Rock or that style of hip hop to appreciate it as well. I know that he's been in the game for awhile and continues to put out some good quality music time and time again. When I say I really like this album, I really mean that, like I can't pick any real favorites. Some notables I will say are We Roll with Jom Jones, 914 with Styles P and Sheek Louch and Ready Fe War with Chip Fu and Renee'. Yeah Chip Fu from Fu Schnickens and Renee from Zhane'. How about that?? Then a track with The Lords of The Underground...yeesh, definitely a lot of goodness...

Download, enjoy and tell me what you think!

Next my man Prime gets his throwback on something official. This one is called the reachback hour and its a good look. Now this is definitely a mixtape style album with shoutouts and everything but the music is where it needs to be if you are looking for some classic hip hop in your life. Same rules apply that its a listen to from beginning to end. So don't say I never gave you anything...!

I don't know what to think???

So I'm not sure how far behind I am with the videos and such. I don't have the energy to keep up nowadays so I try and catch what I can, when I can. In any case, I came across the Flashing Lights video and why didnt anyone tell me about the video??? I'm torn on what to think about it. So check it out and let me know what you think...

Finally a good comedy

You know I catch movies alot. Typically if it comes out and it peaks my interest, I check it out. Now I can't say that I see all the movies that come out , nor do I see the movies that are oscar worthy and all that other stuff, but I do watch what I can.

After watching First Sunday, I was a little skeptical about going to see another balck comedy with an "all star cast" of comedians. So without really spoiling too much, I will say go see Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. It is directed by Malcolm Lee who did the Best Man and I believe did an excellent job at it. He's also Spikes cousin...It has a good balance of comedy, without going overboard and (there was 1 scene in particular that I could have done without) the comedians all had enough "shine" if you ask me...

So check it out and I'll keep you posted on any others that I come across...

Upcoming interview

In a couple of days, I will interview the world famous Mix Master ICE. You all should remember ICE from UTFO days and the popular rap song Roxanne Roxanne. Well I assume that if you're in your 30's or a true hip hop head you would know him. Well he's down with the suspects and we are working some things out for this interview. Be on the lookout for the audio AND the video coming soon. I'm excited cause this brother has a lot of knowledge about the deejay game and hip hop history so I'm wondering what route I'm going to take with this interview. Wish me luck!

The beginning

Aight so for about 2-3 hours last night, I composed. Yeah I put the show together....twice. I thought I did a good job until I listened to it and realized how low I sounded...arrgh!!! Well by time that was done, it was 1130 or so....I quickly changed things up a bit and recorded another show which went till about 1 a.m. I had to cut the heat down so that the furnace wouldnt kick on while recording and it got cold! In any case, its a start and as I work on the kinks I hope that you all will enjoy this show and the others that will come after it...

Fabolous Night

Shout out to Brooklyn!! As usual,The Suspects, Bobby Fame and The Cove got busy...
On Friday the 107.5 anniversary party took place and Dream and Fabolous were the headline performers. The environment and women were looking right and you had your pick from the high quality women that you might not see until next years anniversary party to the bottom dwellers(stab wounds and all). You needed it, it was there. I will eventually get into swagger and how to really tell who has it and who doesnt but thats another blog. So I guess Dream was kind of wack only doing a couple of songs...(if even that much). But I did heard that Fab did his thing. He hit you with all the new stuff plus the classics. 45 minutes or so is a decent show for an artist like Fab so good looking out...
So then of course Ferguson Entertainment(aka Bobby Fame) has Fabolous make his way through the Cove Saturday night. The women got there early and of course we(The Mighty Suspects) got busy to get them busy. It definitely started off like a good night. For the 1st time VIP was just that...Very Important People! Once Fab got there, they had the best big man(picture Big Pun) security that I've ever seen. This cat let NO ONE in and didn't even look or listen to anyone else. He had the ice grill going like those London Palace guards that don't smile for sh^t. I got a kick out of watching women, men and all likes in between try to get into VIP, it didnt matter how short your outfit was, how much money you had in your pocket or how much of a baller you thought you were. All you could do is get a glimpse or a shot of Fab. I will say that I thought he would have been more of a people person but he just chilled out in the corner with a couple of cuties to keep him occupied....One thing I did notice and thats cool is that he appreciates music. He was rocking and bobbin to all the hits and I guess Jeezy is one of his favorites cause that got immediate energy from him.

So one chick comes to me and says "Can you go get Fab for me?" and I'm like"what you want?" She says, "I know there are some cute girls up there but I look mad gooder than some of the chicks." What!?? Needless to say she didnt get up in VIP...
It's definitely never a dull night at The Cove....

mixtape

Aight so its a Friday Night and even though they have the 10 year anniversary of the power 107.5 and Im sure the black community will all be in attendance, Im not feeling it. The Suspects will represent(as we always do) and thats all good. I think Im gonna make a mixtape. I was supposed to do one a long time ago for my birthday and I had the fever but not the drive. Now that everything is up and running, I think Im gonna get it done....I might do it in honor of the NY Giants so its all New York!!! Well at least for the most part... Be on the lookout for it coming soon! Shout out to Storm 900 that made me a shout out and all the other people out there that called in and left me shouts! It's coming, I promise...

Fighting the elements

I consider myself a pretty healthy guy and really havent been bedridden sick in a loooonnngggg time(knock on wood). If anything that effects me though, I will get a head cold from time with the sinus problem. Typically that comes from the crazy weather change that we get here in Columbus!! That sucks....So if Im looking a little rough this weekend(shich is rare), its cause Im fighting the elements...

G MEN

Okay so Im not going to go into too much detail. Nothing more than Go G-Men!!! Thank you Giants for making the end of the season such an eventful one. Thanks for making the last 2 minutes of the superbowl as exciting as it was...Thanks Mrs Burress for naming your son Plaxico cause people love saying it...!

Im sorry Tom and Randy. I loved watching you all this year, really I did and I will still always watch you guys but Ive always gotta root for the home team. See you all next year okay? Is that cool? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL....

Super Tuesday it is!

So I'm reading up on Super Tuesday so that I can be an informed voter this year. The last election I actually waited in line for about an hour to vote and we still missed out. However it let me know how important things really are. At a certain age things start to take some form and shape on whos running this country and their relationship around the world. I would hate to goto another country and as Americans I get the funny look. I already get that...lol

So of course Im a democrat and Im checking out the candidates. Initially Im Obama off the top. By default you supposed to bet on black(except Al Sharpton). I listened and tried to gather as much unbiased info as possible. I know that the news is all about spin control too. SO I continued to listen and watch their actions. Change was the biggest reason Obama led the pack in my eyes. However I recently heard Hillary on Tom Joyner and I must say that I was a little impressed. It didnt seem like the typical rhetoric that most politicians use and speak when they ask questions. It seemed as if she really was just having a conversation and I must admit that Obama seemed like that from time to time. However Im not a fool to instantly believe her either. When I heard Bill Clinton defend his wife and talk about Obama, that didnt sit well either.
So Im gonna watch Super Tuesday and see how this all goes. No matter what history is going to be made this year and no matter what, you want to be a part of it...
